• 40% of CT Residents Want to Leave the State

A study from the Connecticut Economic Resource Council’s InformCT project says, “Slightly more than 4 in 10 Connecticut residents now say it is likely that they will move out of the state within the next five years, reflecting concerns about a lack of jobs, declining business conditions, and health insurance costs….”

In addition, “…nearly two-thirds of Connecticut residents are concerned about the affordability of health insurance, a jump of 12 percentage points in just the past year, and the highest level since the quarterly Inform CT Consumer Confidence Survey began 18 months ago….”

Comment: If the 40% who want to leave are people who want jobs [they want to work], are concerned about business conditions, actually pay for health insurance, and can afford pay to relocate, who does that leave here in the state? Would appear to be people who don’t want to work, don’t care about business conditions, don’t want to pay for their health care, and don’t have the money to move. Just what Connecticut needs…right?
