On Sunday the winds were from the west...

...and although back on Long Island Sound west winds are "best," in Islamorada, west winds are the "worst."

So Wayne and I headed for a spot where we knew we could be out of the wind...

...and where the barracudas roam.

We had a bunch of hits...

...mostly on surface lures. Wayne boated two cudas, this was the first and the smaller one.

We were in sort of a "donut hole" of weather...

...clouds to the left of us...clouds to the right...and we had to keep an eye on them as they were closing the "hole" and becoming darker and more threatening.

Here's Wayne battling the second,...

...larger cuda.

Wayne said the cuda had teeth like a German shepherd but...

...I think these fangs would put most German shepherds on the run.

This larger fish weighed in at 15 pounds.

I caught one cuda but it was not large enough to deserve a photo.

The clouds developed into a squall...

...which chased us off the water as the winds blew up to 20+ kts.
