We finally got a good day to go fishing. Barry was out in the canal next door...looking for breakfast. |
It was one of those days when the winds were nonexistant... ...making the water as still as a mirror. |
Wayne had brought along the casting net... ...and succeeded in bagging some pinfish for bait. Later on he casted a pinfish at a very large barracuda, but the cuda turned up his nose at it and lit out for other parts. |
It was Saturday and as it was also the first decent fishing day in a while... ...we expected there to be a ton of boats out...but only two boats came near us the whole time we were out there. |
The fishing today was not exactly spectacular... ...we caught a bunch of crevale jacks at that place where they seem always to hang out...I got a couple on the fly rod. |
But we had about an hour of excitement... ...when we stumbled onto about a dozen permit [fish] including at least one that was huge. |
I got a couple of shots at them with a crab fly on the fly rod... ...but no hookups. We'll find those fish again another day. |
