“The salt water side of recreational fishing is displaying a definite slowdown. Fishing on the main body of Long Island Sound has dropped off dramatically. Bottom fishing for blackfish, winter flounder, black sea bass and porgies has slowed significantly. Bluefish have moved south and west and fade by the day. Stripers too have moved more to the Long Island side and migrating westward towards the Hudson River winter grounds.
