• Connecticut, Long Island Sound, Housatonic River Saltwater Fishing Report: 08 October 2014


• Winds Continue to Plague Long Island Sound

Small craft advisory in effect from 2 pm edt this afternoon through late tonight.

Thursday: W winds 10 to 15 kt. gusts up to 25 kt this afternoon. Seas 2 to 3 ft.

Tonight: W winds 10 to 15 kt...becoming nw 5 to 10 kt after midnight. gusts up to 25 kt...diminishing after midnight. seas 2 to 3 ft in the evening...then 1 ft or less.

Friday: W winds around 5 kt. seas 1 ft or less. a chance of rain in the afternoon.

On Wednesday Charlie W. and I hid from winds gusting from the west at 25 kts. Managed to pull up a few schoolie stripers, plus a bluefish that Charlie took home for dinner.

Current in the mouth of the River was realy ripping following previous days' rains.

Bridgport Police boat paid a visit to Stratford...probably to check out the local doughnut supply.

The Nells Island marsh has its fall colors on display.
