“Porgies continue to win the popularity contest for bottom-fishing anglers all around Long Island. The low 70-degree water temps suit them just fine.

”Bluefish in Long Island Sound are still hanging around Hempstead Harbor. But a new hot spot for them is beneath the Throgs Neck Bridge, where on Thursday a 15-pound blue succumbed to a surfcaster’s bait of fresh bunker.
