• CTDEEP Lifts Bridgeport Fishing Restriction

“Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has lifted an advisory concerning fishing in Bridgeport Harbor and nearby Yellow Mill Creek. The advisory was put in place Sept. 13, following a fire in the 2100 block of Seaview Avenue.

”The advisory was listed after a comprehensive analysis of testing data on samples of water that flowed off of the site from efforts to fight the blaze. This analysis showed there is no public safety risk associated with the handling and consuming of fish taken from these waters.

”The closure of shellfish beds in the area, which was ordered by the Department of Agriculture, remains in place.”
