“It did not take a lot of research to discover that not only are the numbers of American shad numbers NOT in decline, they are very much on the rebound.

”It turns out that shad numbers hit their low point in 1967 mostly due to overfishing. That year, a mere 16,000 shad passed through the fish-counting station in the Holyoke Dam on the Connecticut River in Massachusetts….”
