“There was a day in Connecticut when ice fishing before Thanksgiving was not so unusual. Many veteran ice fishers tell stories of getting out with their tip-ups and pints of warming ginger brandy in late November.

”Contemporary ice fishers, however, will tell you that the ice fishing season in Connecticut has shortened by as much as a month on both ends.”
