• Connecticut, Long Island Sound, Housatonic River Saltwater Fishing Report: 15 MAY 2013

There was frost on the pumpkin in Hometown, CT on Wednesday morning. Charlie W. and I agreed that it felt like November fishing out on the River.

Most of the local sailboat population appears now to have returned to the mid-River morings.

Almost a keeper.

Mute swans...always graceful...unless you're on a personal watercraft and the swan is chasing you down the River.

A winter flounder smacked Charlie's jig and plastic.

First headboat (partyboat) we've seen this year...maybe looking for fluke at the mouth of the River?

Charlie's into a fish here.

A keeper...that was not kept but returned quickly and safely to the River.

Another great day on the water came to an end as drops of rain began to fall just as we returned to the boat slip.
