“Once at the river, I tied a chartreuse and white Clouser fly to the end of my leader and waded into the current not far from a buoy that marked the channel's inside edge.

”The speed of the current at this spot, perhaps four or five knots, caused a kind of back eddy to form in the shallows at the edges of the sandbars.”
