It was clear that spring had sprung on Wednesday as I headed to the dock.
As usual, however, NOAA had underestimated the winds, and despite temps in the 60's it was downright nasty out there. NOAA had said 5-10 kts.; wind was easily 20 kts. and blowing right up the River from the mouth...as in a wind tunnel.
Stripers didn't seem to mind the wind. Charlie W. was up 8 fish to 2 on me early on...just the reverse of what had happened the last time we fished together.
We caught a mess of fish...but all schoolies...no keeper fish this day.
Canada Goose didn't seem to mind the wind.
All fish were caught on jig and plastic...was too windy out there to spend much time with the fly rod.
Schoolie can put a bend in the spinning rod.
Couple of dinks in the mix.
Anglers were out in force at Milford Point. Didn't seem to be a lot of action there...we saw only one fish taken from shore while we were in the area.
