“Hooking a blackfish can also be tricky. Smaller fish tend to 'tap' at the bait, once, twice maybe three times. If you try to set the hook on one of the taps, chances are good you will miss. Wait until you feel a solid tug on the line before raising the rod. Large fish do not tap. They tug and tug hard, so hang on.”
