• U.S. Temperature and Precipitation in October Were Near Average

According to NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center scientists, the average temperature for the contiguous U.S. during October was 53.9°F, 0.3°F below the long-term average.

This ends a 16-month streak of above-average temperatures for the Lower 48 that began in June 2011.
