• Labor Day Weekend: Is Fall Striper Run Approaching?

”Water temperatures have hit their peak and started to drop as daylight hours shrink. There’s a chill of fall in the early morning air, and the stripers feel it just as we do.

”For them, it’s a signal to start feeding, eating as much as they can before they turn tail and swim south for the winter.

”This is a very good thing for fishermen, as big striped bass that sulked in the summer heat suddenly become aggressive, pushing baitfish to the surface and falling all over themselves to grab a plug, fly or bait.”
