”There are some adult menhaden in the Connecticut River, which have been attracting and holding some big stripers and blues.

"Last weekend, Mark Lewchick of River’s End Tackle in Saybrook reported that one of their regulars caught a striper that weighed in at just under 50 pounds.

"It was the best of a few good-sized bass that were feeding on that concentration of bunker.
