Connecticut, Long Island Sound, Housatonic River Saltwater Fishing Report: 28 JUN

0600 on 28 JUN Roy P. and I left the dock on what was going to be a bluebird day...weather-wise.

We were quickly into schoolie bass.

Saw pods of bunker near the beach...but nothing was feeding on them.

American Oystercatchers

Fish were scattered and we had to work for them.

Black-Crowned Night Heron

The "No-Wake Zones Don't Apply to Me" lunkhead of the day.

Roy kept a bluefish for dinner.

Quickly bled, filleted, and iced, the fish was excellent off the grill, Roy reported later.
