New York Has Bluefish!

"Striped bass are pouring out of the Hudson and heading east both in the Sound and along the South Shore beaches. It has been a decent start to the winter flounder season and there are bluefish showing in the New York Bight."

Kayakers: Coast Guard Advisory


“On Monday, March 29, the Coast Guard received a report of an unmanned kayak near Port Madison, Wash. It is a situation that occurs in the maritime search and rescue community all too often. When a vessel is found adrift without its pilot and there is no way of determining whether or not an individual may be in distress.”

Don’t forget, a 2010 saltwater fishing license is required to fish the marine waters of Connecticut. You can purchase one from your local bait & tackle shop, such as Newtown Bait & Tackle, or at Town/City Hall.
