Can’t Catch Stripers? Raise Your Own!

“Whiteside brings fingerling bass in from Arkansas. They're tiny: 3,000 fish weighing a total of 30 pounds. Those 30 pounds soon grow to 300-500 pounds, and then they're put into bigger tanks. When they reach about two pounds, usually 18-24 months, they're pulled out and shipped off.”

Don’t forget, a 2010 saltwater fishing license is required to fish the marine waters of Connecticut. You can purchase one from your local bait & tackle shop, such as Newtown Bait & Tackle, or at Town/City Hall.
