Bunker...and Stripers on the Fly

Friday Fish Report

“With confirmed reports of bunker schools in Peconic Bay on Long Island's South Shore, it is only a matter of time before the first bluefish reports are heard. Meanwhile the bass are providing plenty of action for salty anglers. The rivers are chock full of herring and spearing while sand eels have shown up around Penfield Reef.”
Charles Walsh writing in CTPost.com

Stripers on the Fly

“The stripers are in and all you have to do to catch one is to present them a fly. Oh ya, and contend with people walking behind you on the beach, in the dark. The wind never goes away and when it does, so do the fish.”

Don’t forget, a 2010 saltwater fishing license is required to fish the marine waters of Connecticut. You can purchase one from your local bait & tackle shop, such as Newtown Bait & Tackle, or at Town/City Hall.
