Bluefish...and Satellites

Bluefish Are All Over the Place…

If you’re in North Carolina that is: “What a week for fishing. Bluefish, red drum, black drum, flounder, speckled trout and sea mullet have provided great action for area inshore fishermen. Offshore boats are reporting catches of black bass, grouper, snapper, cobia, amberjack, African pompano, wahoo, blackfin tuna, dolphin and even one sailfish was caught and released.”

NOAA’s New GOES-15 Satellite to Improve Weather Forecasting [sure!]

“GOES-15, launched on March 4, 2010, from Cape Canaveral, Fla., joins three other NOAA operational GOES spacecraft that help the agency's forecasters track life-threatening weather–-from tornadoes, floods and hurricanes--and solar activity that can impact the satellite-based electronics and communications industry.”

Don’t forget, a 2010 saltwater fishing license is required to fish the marine waters of Connecticut. You can purchase one from your local bait & tackle shop, such as Newtown Bait & Tackle, or at Town/City Hall.
