Old Salts Tell Good Stories

"His limbs are a testimonial to his day. Fresh holes in the fleshy part of his hand where he caught a flying treble hook; a nasty rip on the side of his calf where a bolt head opened a gash when a rogue wave took them broadsides; fingers rubbed raw from handling stripers; a mark where a blue took a little chunk out of his wrist. His skin is all salt streaks and dried blood.
